Bandon Dunes offers more adult entertainment with some of the finest links golf in the world, and there are numerous other courses to play up and down the coast as well.
Shopping for souveniers is also a favorite pastime and the Southern Oregon Coast is where the famous Myrtlewood is grown and sold, both carved and turned, or in a more natural state for you to use for a woodworking project. Oregon Jam stands are here and there, and there are plenty of art galleries, , glass blowers (you can watch them hand blow gorgeous works of art) beach souveniers and other shopping opportunities. Visit the lighthouses and other historic attractions. The light at Cape Blanco, just north of Port Orford is the highest, oldest and farthest west on the Oregon coast. You can tour it, and the fascinating Hughes House, in one easy trip. In Port Orford you can wind your way up to the Old Coast Guard Station, now a state park. Food is another pleasure to enjoy on the coast, and we have it all from the finest cuisine, to delicious fish and chips and clam chowder.
For the photographer or artist, photo ops abound. Turn a corner on a hiking trail, or on the highway, and you are suddenly gifted with a view to take your breath away. Sylvan woods spill down hillsides to rocky cliffs and golden beaches. Wild Rhodies and azeleas and other wildflowers fill the woods. Rivers flow in verdant valleys and hillsides are covered with brilliant golden gorse.
